Jen Plecki
I’m Jen Plecki, owner of Jen Plecki, LMT. If you had asked me from the time I was 5 until I was around 19 what I planned to be when I grew up I would have told you I was going to be a doctor. I started my college career in pre-med and had a lifelong desire to heal people. However, as Robert Burns said, “The best laid plans of mice and men often go awry.” I took a long, unexpected detour into retail and retail management. In 2015 I decided I needed a change and started looking into how I could get into a field that allowed me to work directly with people to help them feel better. I was also searching for a field that allowed me the flexibility to grow my family and be able to be present at all of the important soccer games, band concerts and teacher conferences that come with the title of Mom. My search led me to massage. I went to Cortiva Massage School in Seattle and graduated from their 750 hour program with honors in December of 2015. I received my massage licence in January of 2016 and completed Cortiva’s extended program in March of 2016. (Massage License: WA60629784)
When I’m not doing massage I’m a martial artist training at Seven Star Women’s Kung Fu in the central district where I currently hold the rank of green belt. My 7+ years in the martial arts definitely inform my massage and knowledge of the body and how it moves. When I’m not massaging or training I’m playing the role of mom to my kiddo who was born in early 2018.
Jen Plecki, LMT
I opened my private massage practice with a location in Lower Queen Anne in the fall of 2016. After taking the first few months of 2018 off for maternity leave, I opened a second location in SODO. My goal as a therapist is to create an environment that is welcoming to all people. While my Queen Anne office is in a very old building that is not wheelchair accessible, I made sure my second office in SODO is. In the summer of 2018 I took a class focusing on the needs of trans and gender diverse clients to help educate myself in the specific needs of this community. My goal as I grow is to create a massage home that is welcoming to people of all body types, physical needs, and identities. I plan to take more classes in the future in the needs of pregnant clients, those with cancer, more injury treatment techniques, among other classes.
